The Open Worldwide Application Security Project (OWASP) is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to improving software security through open standards, best practices, tools, and community driven projects. Among its initiatives are the OWASP Top 10 lists, which identify the most critical security risks across different technology domains.

The recently released OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications 2026 from the GenAI Security Project updates the 2025 edition and incorporates empirical incident data into the ranking process. In addition to the community vote, the project analyzed 7,714 publicly documented AI related security incidents.
