On March 13, 2025, the Unite!-Ed Conference with the topic Reimagining Education for AI ready graduates took place online.

Keynote

The keynote speech by Matti Tedre and Henriikka Vartiainen entitled Beyond AI Hype and Toward Critical AI Education took a look at AI and started with how promises made by AI companies are still not being fulfilled. Further topics such as AI ethics, regulation and impact on society and learning were addressed.

In addition, innovative tools for AI education were presented, including tm.gen-ai.fi, which is used by a colleague of mine. This tool covers all core concepts from AI, such as training data, examples, classes, naming, training, classifiers, inputs, classification results, confidence values, activation maps, triggers, actions, the fragility of AI models and deployment The focus was on complete process visibility – starting from data to training to practical application – to ensure complete line of sight . The concept to teach AI by from the very start to implementation while making the entire data flow transparent.
